The Big Pitch: "Let's Talk Film" By Travis Ware (Columnist)


Many people have asked me, "How much does it cost to make a picture?" And one phrase comes to mind, "You get what you pay for!" You can make a movie with about any amount of money. Hell, you can make a film for $170.00. But the question to you is,
"Where is the money going?" You have to know how to budget the money you are given; it also depends on what type of movie you are making. If its a horror film, your money probably goes to SFX. If its Sci-Fi, then you will have to think about the visual effects. And if its a drama, you might think of how much to pay talent, sets and/or locations youll need; this is on account that the drama is a character driver. All these genres are would be great films if the right amount of money is put in the proper place...
